This little restaurant in the middle of the square. While the town is quiet, the restaurant got quite busy. I had the swordfish which was perfectly grilled and seasoned. The accompanying potatoes melts in the mouth. A perfect lunch.
I would start this review by describing the unwelcoming attitude of the employees in this restaurant. although we had a reservation at 7:30 p.m., we arrived a few minutes earlier and we were ignored by the staff who was drinking their coffee. we waited until the opening and yet at 19:30 we were made to wait another 10 minutes for them to arrange the tables. we would have gotten over these problems if the food had been delicious, which I couldn't say... it was mediocre at best. so I do not recommend this restaurant.
Top quality food, excellent atmosphere, and super warm and kind service. 👌 a place to come back for sure
So we decide to go for a drive through Melides and think, maybe we should stop for a snack since it’s lunch .. we somehow drop into O Fadista and the place is heaving - on Boxing Day too! We decide to share a lunch and order the house specialty - Prawns and Clams Rice. WOAH .. first the pit comes out and we think, this is for a family .. then we start digging in and the entire prawn and clam ancestry is in this pot - no holding back! The most amazing lunch we’ve had in a long time .. if you’re in Portugal or even Spain - drive over .. it’ll be worth it .. Delicious is an understatement for how good it tasted 😋
Great food, but might be serving too much depending on your appetite! Good thing is that you can take the leftovers for takeaway (which you will want because everything was tasty!)
Very authentic snack bar that has grown into a Restaurant with meals that are as huge as delicious and surprising.
We had an amazing dinner here at a table on the terrace. The clams with rice and fried prawns was the stand-out dish, they said it would feed two, but four might be a closer estimate. The chicken gizzards were also excellent. Friendly efficient service, fair prices.
Nice place to have a traditional Portuguese lunch. Generous and tasty plates. Really good value for money.
